World Mental Health Report - WHO 2022
This pivotal report underlines the necessity of transformative changes to meet the WHO Comprehensive Mental Health Action Plan 2013–2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals. It advocates for a shift in our attitudes and approaches towards mental health, emphasizing the enhancement of environments that impact mental well-being and the expansion of community-based services to ensure universal health coverage for mental health. By integrating mental health into primary care and strengthening international collaboration, we aim to alleviate suffering, uphold dignity, and foster societal development. The report calls for a global, concerted effort to promote, protect, and prioritize mental health, ensuring accessible, quality care and full societal participation without stigma or discrimination.
Comprehensive Mental Health Action Plan 2013 - 2030
Recognizing the critical role of mental health in achieving overall well-being and resilience, this updated action plan by the WHO emphasizes the urgent need for enhanced mental health services as part of universal health coverage. Endorsed by the Seventy-fourth World Health Assembly, the plan builds on its 2013-2020 predecessor with revised indicators, implementation options, and ambitious global targets. It maintains a life-course approach and focuses on promoting mental health for all, preventing mental health conditions for those at risk, and achieving universal service coverage. Key objectives include improving leadership, integrating mental health and social care in community settings, and strengthening data and research systems.
